- Surfing & Swimming
As a UCSD student, swimming and surfing are must skills to enjoy the beautiful beach and warm sunshine
here. I do regular swimming to keep my body headthy. In weekends in summer, we go to
SIO (Scripps Insitute of Oceanography, UCSD) beach with friends to surf.
I can only play Bogi-board so far.
- Volleyball
One of my good friend, Ying-Ja, organizes a regular volleyball practice every Friday evening
8pm-11pm in Recreation Gym. Though we are not an expert volleyball player, we still have a lot
of fun on the court. Beside this , I meet lots of new friends from other department and even
from SDSU (San Diego State University.)
R/C Aircraft
- oil-engine airplane
I started playing R/C aicrafts since my highschool. Ten years ago, RC models are not so popular as now,
and most of them are imported from Japan and thus very expensive.
- eletric-powered helicopter
Recently, I purchased a ESKY-lama double coaxial helicopter. It is relatively stabler than traditional
non-coaxial helicopters. I plan to connect the remote controller to a notebook and let notebook to
controller the heli guided by a webcam using stereo vision.
Chinese Music
- Erhu
Since I joined the Chinese music club in my high school, I got exposed to various
Chinese instruments and learned to play some of them. Finally, I made up my mind to focus
on Erhu, a 2-string instrument.
I brought my Erhu together when I came to US and practice regularily myself.
I would like to find some other Erhu-lovers to practice together, but I failed.
