Phosphorescent makeup for facial reality capture

Author:ting @ August 9th, 2007 Leave a Comment

I went to SIGGRAPH today. MOVA demonstrated their new marker-less 3D facial movements capture technique. The actors’ skin is sponged with UV-fluorescent makeup. This makeup acts like millions of invisible markers. Therefore, very subtle detail can be captured/tracked by geometric reconstruction from multiple UV cameras.

Asobo was running fine today. The MetaScheduler is still not working, I’m investigating further.

I talked with Lydia, she requested another song and also said the kids know most of the answers to the games and are getting bored with Asobo. She said they still play with him, but now it’s half an hour or so a day as opposed to three hours.

Deployed new MetaScheduler

Author:Cynthia @ August 8th, 2007 Leave a Comment

Today at ECEC I deployed a new version of the MetaScheduler which will hopefully work with RUBIOS2.0. I think the problem with the old MetaScheduler was caused by RUBIOS2.0 not shutting down nodes when the service name was different from the node name.

I also changed Asobo’s schedule based on a request from Lydia.
